We are specialists
We specialise in providing wireless network installation services for businesses across New Zealand. WiFi installations fail for many reasons. They may have a bad initial design, suffer from interference, poor placement or coverage or have an insufficient capacity. They differ vastly from wired networks which, in comparison, are relatively easy. Because there can be a wide range of issues for an installation failing, your business should always use an expert when installing any wireless equipment.
What can I expect from a wireless network installation?
We would always recommend starting with a wireless survey. Before an initial survey, you need to establish what the goals of your network are. Does it need to run VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol)? And if so, what system do you require? Will you need video capabilities? How many extra client devices are likely to be present in meetings?
Next, you need to consider if you have any preference on the model or manufacturer of some of the components, such as access points, switches or firewalls. Knowing this in advance will help your network run as efficiently as possible. If you’re unsure then we’re more than happy to advise.
Depending on the type of building, and whether you already have access to the premises (or is it a proposed development) we will recommend a survey that most suits your need. Once this is completed, your assigned project manager will get in contact regarding an installation date.
All equipment is pre-configured in our offices initially before our team attends to your site to complete the installation. Once finished, your onsite system is run rigorously through set-up tests to ensure it meets all requirements. At this point you will be asked to sign the paperwork, confirming that the installation has met your specifications.
If you have signed up for a Managed Service, then at this point Performance Networks will start monitoring the services and using the first few days of your new network to ensure everything is running optimally – looking at both internet connectivity (WAN) performance as well as the LAN (wired and wireless). We may recommend various tweaks at this point. If any of these are disruptive we will endeavour to arrange the most convenient time for the changes to take place. This entire process ensures that your new network is running optimally for your site.
WiFi site surveys
What is a WiFi site survey?
A wireless site survey is essential to the planning and design phase, prior to the installation of a wireless network in your premises or location.
Design, Fault Find & Optimise
We offer different types of WiFi site surveys, dependent on your needs. Each survey will include a diagnosis of any issues with your existing network, and an inspection and test of your existing infrastructure to ensure it is fit for purpose and scalable for your business needs. We’ll complete analysis of your existing coverage (if any), and a review of your vital services, software and apps to ensure they run without any issues, designing your network from the ground up with this in mind.

Our solutions include:
Point to point links (to interconnect buildings)
This is the wireless equivalent of running a single cable to join up to two buildings, which would otherwise be impractical due to distance or cost.
Indoor WiFi covering offices (SMB to Enterprise)
Schools/Colleges, Warehouses, Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants, Cafes, Hotels, Libraries, Care homes and Hospitals.
Ideal for covering holiday/caravan parks across wide and often remote spaces. We are also able to cover WiFi for outdoor business conferences, arenas, sports stadiums and music festivals.
Guest WiFi access
Did you know that by asking WiFi guests to access your network via their social media accounts, you could access a mine of demographically profiled marketing information? Many venues offer free WiFi networks to their guests but don’t gather information to support their marketing campaigns. With a Performance Networks guest WiFi portal, you can provide internet access via a Wireless Hotspot in exchange for Facebook likes Twitter followers or email addresses.
Hotspots that provide compliant data to businesses
Wireless or WiFi Hotspots allow people in public locations to use mobile devices – such as their smartphones or laptops – to connect to wireless networks whilst on the go.
Wireless Hotspots can be located anywhere, from cafes to airports. To access public WiFi networks, users are typically required to log in via social media accounts or emails. By using social Wifi, users can access your WiFi network quickly and easily. In turn, businesses are provided with a wealth of information.
Our fully-managed solutions allow you to design and implement wireless hotspots nationally with ease.
How can a guest WiFi portal benefit my business?
Bespoke portal page
We provide a bespoke log-in or ‘portal’ page. This is a user-friendly designed page that you can personalise with your logo.
In order to access the internet via your Wireless Hotspot, your guests can choose to like you on Facebook, follow you on Twitter or submit their email addresses.
This new social media activity is displayed on your guests’ Facebook news or Twitter feeds, promoting your hotel to a ready-made target demographic.
You’ll benefit from building a solid base of ‘like’ and ‘follows’ so that subsequent social media marketing campaigns are seen by a high number of warm guests. This will improve your return business by keeping you front of mind.
You’ll capture email addresses for future e-marketing campaigns and benefit from free exposure across Facebook or Twitter to a new potential customer base.
Stay ahead of the game, and your competition, by getting to really know your customers and their habit. In today’s world, your marketing approach needs to be proactive. Our Guest WiFi portal can help.
